The Nelson Education Board yesterday passed a resolution of sympathy with Mr W. J. Boden, senior inspector, in his illness, six weeks’ leave of absence being granted as from 2nd May. Mr Norman Wilde, M.Sc., who has been spending his vacation with his parents, Mr and Mrs J. Wilde, Dorset street, Richmond, left by car yesterday and has returned to RollestonHouse, Canterbury University College. Members of the Nelson Education Board yesterday paid tribute to the work of Mr H. F. McClune, former headmaster of Nelson Centrol School, and a letter oL appreciation of his services is to be forwarded, and regret at his departure. Mrs Mabel Coote and Miss Myrtß Coote, who are going Homs to attend the Oxford group house party at Oxford in July, leave by the Matangi to-morrow night, connecting with the Waipawa which leaves Wellington on Friday. Mr H. W. Piper, new business supervisor for the Ordinary Department of the A.M.P. Society, who has been in Nelson during the past few days, left this morning for Blenheim.
