THE DOQMBEN CUP WON BY VERDUN (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) BRISBANE, 24th May. Following is the result of the DOOMBEN CUP. One mile onyi a quarter— Verdun, 7.0 (Conquest) 1,Silver Standard, 7.10 (W. Cook 2 Capris, 8.7 (Heather) 3 Eleven started. Won by one length, three lengths. Time. 2.5. Two No Trumps finished third in the Novice Mile Handicap. WILLTAMSTOWN MEETING MELBOURNE, 24th May. At the Williamstown races Membo was third in the Autumn Steeplechase. The following were unplaced: Revision and Caperacc, in the Kororoit Hurdles; Idavale, in the Juvenile Handicap; Greenhorn, in the Bayview Handicap; Radiant Star and Desert Chief, in the Gellibrand Handicap. During the running of the Kororoit Hurdles Heroic Prince, a former Australian Cup winner, was seriously injured and had to be destroyed. Palatinate v/as second in the Beach Welter, in which Whernside was unplaced. MOOREFIELD RACES SYDNEY, 24th May. At the Moorefiold races Teapicker was unplaced in the second division of the Kogaiah Stakes. Prince Pombal and Love-song were unplaced in the first division of the Flying Welter Handicap.
