PETROL AND OIL FROM SHALE
PRODUCTION AND MARKETING (Received 23rd May. 2.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Applications are being invited by the Commonwealth Government from persons and companies desirous of undertaking the production and marketing of petrol and oil from shale on the Newnes shale oil field. The right is reserved by the Commonwealth to completely control the enterprise in times of national emergency subject to compensation on just terms.
