ENGLAND’S GREAT NEW FILM CITY
LARGEST IN EUROPE huge, studios and workshops (By Air Mail—From a Special . Correspondent) LONDON, 2nd May. London Film Productions new studios at Denham about 15 miles from London, tiic largest in Europe and the best laid out in the world, are nearing completion. They represent a white city of 2,000 people among the fields and woods of Buckinghamshire. Outside, the big white buildings, with their green roofs to harmonise with the landscape, look like something out of “Things to Come.” Inside the effect is midway between a model factory and a luxurious hotel. Off the long white corridors—one is 900 ft long—arc dressing rooms for stars, complete with shower baths, rather larger dressing rooms for extras, one of which will accommodate 200; executive offices, rest rooms, a first-aid station, a private cinema, seating 200, and rooms for all the hundreds of technicians. The two largest studios will permit of exteriors—village fairs, a fair-sized battle and so on—being staged indoors. And to defeat fog as well as rain, all the seven stages are supplied with air, hot or cold, which is completely changed every 15 minutes and filtered of every impurity-
