There was a good market for sheep and a weaker one for cattle Store sheep: All classes sold well. Ewes were better by up to Is a head, also forward wethers and ewe lambs. Ewe lambs made to 3>2s 3d. and forward wethers ranged from 22s to 23s 9d. Eat lambs were slightly easier, the m a rket export competition not being so widespread. Fat sheep met an improved sale by up to Is a head, the entry being 1100 less than last week. Best wethers sold from 27s to 345; good, from 23s to 26s 6d : best ewes, from 22s to 275; prime medium weight from 18s to 235; export, from 145.t0 17s. Fat cattle : A h.eavv entry of 550 head and a weakening in values by up to 20s. Best steers made from £lO to £l3 7s 6d : good, from £3 to £9 10s ; inferior. £4 5s to £6 10s; best heifers, £7 to £9; medium, £4 10s to £5 10s; best cows. £6 10s to £9 10s ; medium, £4 to £5. Best beef made 25s to 27s a 1001 b; medium, 22s to 245. Fat pigs: Baconers wore firmer and porkers cheaper. There was no export buying. Baconers. 47s 6d to £4; average price per lb, s<l to £ l-4d ; porkers, 28s to Hs 6d, average price per lb 51d to s?d. Choppers made 30s to £3 18s Gd.
