TAX ON LIPSTICK
SUGGESTION IN THE COMMONS GREETED WITH CHEERS AND LAUGHTER (British Official Wireless) (Received 21st May, 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, 20th May. Suggesting a tax on lipstick, the Marquess of Titchfield (C.), in the House of Commons, said he understood large sums were obtained from such tax in France and America. He did not believe ladies in Britain were any less decorative than tlie ladies of Franco and America, and large sums could be raised. The suggestion was received with cheers and laughter.
