REORGANISATION IN CANADA PERSONNEL TO BE STRENGTHENED MORE ADEQUATE EQUIPMENT CAVALRY TO BE MAINTAINED (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 21st- May, 1.48 p.m.) OTTAWA, 20th May. The Prime Minister, Mr Mackenzie Kins.-, announces the complete re= organisation of the defence forces. The militia will be reduced from 135,009 to into a mere compact body, traditional regiments will be strengthened and given more adequate equipment, 136 infantry regiments will become six infantry, one cavalry, the latter to be mechanised, the naval personnel will be increased and Hie Air Force will be made more of a fighting unit.
