THIS YEAR’S TATTOO
RANGOON RIVER EXPEDITION (By Air Mail —From Our Own Correspondent) LONDON, 27th February. > ; The principal feature at this summer’s Aldershot tattoo on the Rushmore arena will be the Rangoon River Expedition of 1824, an almost forgotten adventure in, arms. There will be all the standing items, the massed bands, the Highland •pipers, the cavalry rides, and other popular shows, and' thfr cavalry will stage a “phantom column,” depicting its own mechanical transition. Highland regiments will also give a presentation of the Battle of Bannockburn. Next year perhaps the War Office will adjust the balance bv letting us stago the battle of the Standard, about which, sturdy North Britons never speak at all. Given decent climatic conditions, which were not present last year, the tattoo is sure to be a tremendous success.
