40 HOUR WEEK PROPOSAL
MR BISHOP’S COMMENT MINISTER IN REPLY (By Telegraph) (From “The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, This Day. Brief, but pointed, comment was made to-day by the Minister of Labour, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, in reference to the statement made by the Secretary of the New Zealand Employers Federation (Air T. 0. Bishop) on the subject of the Government’s 40 hour week proposal. Mr Bishop had said that it would bo disastrous to apply the policy in New Zealand. “Mr Bishop has said exactly what he would be expected to say,” said Air Armstrong. “That’s his job.”
