WOOL SALES
Messrs E. Buxton and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market cablegram from their London agents, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Elder, Limited, dated 241 h March. 1936: “Sales have closed firm, competition brisk. Home buyers principal operators, Continental buyers operating moderately. Compared with last London sale’s closing rates: Greasy merino, poor selection offered ; best descriptions advanced 7£ per cent.; other descriptions advanced 5 per cent. ; scoured merino advanced 5 to 7g per cent; crossbred greasy comeback advanced 5 per cent.; crossbred greasy fine to very fine advanced 5 per cent.; crossbred greasy coarse advanced 5 per cent.; other descriptions market irregular, declined a shade; crossbred scoured advanced 5 to 10 per cent. ; slipe crossbred advanced 5 to 10 per cent.”
