PROTECTION AGAINST FLOODING
HAWKES BAY SCHEME (United Press Association) HASTINGS, 25th March. The Ilawkes Bay Rivers Board poll for authority to raise £60,000 for the purpose of carrying out the Ngaruroro river control scheme for the protection of land against flooding was held today and resulted in 994 votes being cast for the loan and 533 against.
