Southern section—Swinton v. Torquay 1-0. Rugby—Pcnartb v. Newport 0-11. Hospitals’ Cup final—St. Thomas’s v. St. Mary's 8-19. Rugby League—Streatham Mitcham v. Halifax 8,21; Bradford Northern v. Castleford 11.5; Huddersfield v. Dews bury 36-4; Salford v. Rochdale 30-7; Ilunslet v. Wakefield 12-5; Leigh v. Wigan 5-6.
