FINANCIAL POLICY
WILL BE REVEALED • WHEN BILLS INTRODUCED (By Telegraph) (From "The Mail’s” Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, 25th March. In a general way aspects of the Government's legislative programme for the session have been revealed, and main interest from now on will centre on tlie filling iu of the gaps. Particularly is this so in regard to the financial proposals of the Government. Naturally details of the financial policy have been kept a close secret, although the Labour Party’s intention to make the Reserve Bank a State institution has been revealed. What will happen will be that the Government will buy out the shares valued at £500)000 held by private shareholders, and, according to statements which have been made by the Prime Minister from time to time, there is no intention at present to alter the management of the Bank. The changes made will be on points of policy. It is not expected that the Speech from the Throne will reveal details of th Government’s financial policy. These will probably be withheld until the Bills giving effect to the policy are introduced into the House.
