NEWMAN SHIELD CRICKET

MARLBOROUGH TEAM The Marlborough representatives to play Motueka at Motueka, on the 3rd, 4th and oth Aprii, for the Newman Shield will arrive on Thursday. They hope to give Motueka a good game for the Shield, as the team is a particularly strong one and is comprised of the following players: C. F. Giggs (captain), A. liobinson K. Robinson, H. Auty, C. O’Sullivan, F. Creswell, M. Carter, A. Neal, X. Gibson, G. Ivaemy, B. Hunbleby. Emergencies, M. Neal and A. Creswell. The team will be accompanied by the president of the Marlborough Association, Mr F. W. Gane, and the secretary, Mr A. Barrett, MOTUEKA SCHOOL MATCH A Nelson College team journeyed to Motueka on Wednesday afternoon and played the district High School eleven at the Cricket Ground. The match resulted in the home team winning by nine runs. College batted first and scored 55, Parker (15) being the only batsman to reach double figures. Motueka replied with 64, of which total T.
