JUSTICES’ STATEMENT DENIED

AUCKLAND, 24th March. The Dominion convention of the W.C.T.U., sitting at Auckland, carried a resolution emphatically denying the statement made at the annual meeting of the Justices of the Peace Association that the union does not favour giving Avomen police the power to arrest, and declares that the union has always and still asks that Avhen women police are appointed they shall be given full status and the powers of constables, including arrest.-
