TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
NELSON LAWN COURTS CLUB FINALS NEXT SATURDAY Next Saturday the finals of the Nelson Lawn Tennis Club’s Championship events will be played on No. 1 and 2 courts. The boys’ final will be the first match, which is to commence at 1.30 p.m., followed by the men’s singles, ladies’ singles, mens’ and ladies’ doubles and the mixed doubles. 'The finalists will be announced later this week. All tennis players and the general public are invited to attend and excellent matches are indicated. Afternoon tea will be provided and admission is free. Trophies for the events will be presented at the wind-up dance at the Wilkinsqji School of Dancing on 4th April, which is the final day for tennis on the Grass Courts.
The girls’ singles final played early this week between Miss H. Davis and Miss J. Baxter resulted in a win for the former 6-4, 6-2.
