Rates were firm on Wellington,' showing a slight advance on Napier February rates. There was an exceptionally keen competition, the Continent predominating, with Bradford operating extensively. All types of crossbreds were keenly sought, especially the finer wools. Extra fine crossbred—so/56’s super nil, average 12|d to 13Jd, inferier nil. Fine crossbred —48/50’s super nil, average BJd to 9|d, inferior 7§d to BJd, 4G/48’s average BJd to 9d, inferior 7|d to B£d, 44/40’s average BJd to 84d, inferior 7id to Bd, 40/44’s average 8d to BJd, inferior 7d to Bd, 36/40’s average 8d to 84d, inferior 7d to 7|d. Hoggets—so/50’s to 14d, 48/50’s, B|d to lOd; 40/48’s, to 9Jd. Necks—good to super 9d to lOd, low to medium Od to Bd.

Pieces—good to super 7§d to 8-Jd, low to medium Od to 7d.
