FINE PERFORMANCES IN OTAGO [By Telegraph—Press Association] DUNEDIN, 31st January.O’Driscoll and Miss Matliieson auded two more Otago swimming titles to their bag this evening. O’Driscoll did the mile in 24min 34 4-ssee and -Miss Matliieson won the 440 yards ladies’ championship. Her time was Omin !) 3-osec, being just one second slowei' than the time put up by- Kathleen -Miller in 1928. Last season O’Driseoll did the mile in 24min 25soe and, considering his age is only 19 and the fact that he had no one to push him. his time this evening must he considered highly satisfactory. The 40 yards ladies’ championship proved tin easy thing for Miss Mathieson. The only other starters were Miss P. Duncan and Miss P. Sporle., - Miss Sporlo swam exceptionally well, But had little chance against the winner, who led throughout and finished with 15 yards to spare.
