MEN’S TITLE TO STRATTON

PAI.MEUSTON N., 31st January. At the Dominion croquet championships to day the most exciting match was the final of the men’s championship between If. P. Stratton (Hastings) and F. C. Bryan (Palmerston North). It was closely contested, Stratton having to show his best form to win. Results: —
Open Championship'—Second round : Mrs Henderson beat Mrs Watkins, 2622, 26-17. Third round: J. L. Hartnell beat Mrs Kibblewhite, 26-20, 26-14; Mrs Thomson beat Mrs Pitcaithly, 26-17, 2620. | Championship Doubles Semi-final: Mesdames Anstis and Petrie beat Mesdames Carson and Given, 26-1. Men’s Championship—Final: 11. P. Stratton (Hastings) beat F. C. Bryan (Palmerston North), 26-25, 26-22. Women’s Championship—Second life, final: Mrs Caldow beat Mrs Anstis, 2621.
Handicap Singles—Section One, second round: Mrs Pitcaithly beat Mrs Palmer, 26-13; Mrs Petrie beat Mrs Caldow, 2624. Third round : Mrs Thomson beat Mrs Anstis, 26-19; Mrs Petrie beat Mrs Pitcaithly 26-18. Section two, final: Mrs J. A. Colquhoun (7), beat Mrs C. McGill (3), 26-21. Handicap Doubles—Third round : Mesdames True and Williams beat Mesdames Petrie and Manning, 26-17. Semi-final: Mesdames Caldow and Duckworth beat Mrs Palmer and Miss Collinson, 26-25.
