ANNIVERSARY REGATTA

TO-MORROW’S EVENTS The Nelson Regatta Committee will hold their annual Regatta on the Nelson harbour to-morrow, commencing at 1.15 p.m. The entries for the respective events have greatly increased this year, and added to this there will be representatives from the Picton, Wairau and Blenheim Rowing Clubs, which alone should prove a great attraction. A demonstration of aquaplaning will also be given. The events, results and music will be broadcast by loud speakers on the wharf. Provided the weather is fine, the general public can be assured of a good afternoon’s entertainment. Besides launch, rowing and sailing races the Swimming Club will be conducting races at the inner quay so that the public will be well catered for. To finalise the day a dance will be held at the Velma Hall, which will be complimentary to the visiting oarsmen. , ROWING CREWS The following crews will represent the Blenheim Rowing Club in the interclub races to be held to-morrow afternoon: R. Bvthell (stroke), W. McDonald, 'l'. McDonald, J. M. Bythell. Nelson Rowing Club: A. P. Jarvis (stroke), G. P. Russell, S. Pushman, V. Lqrge; N. McKenzie (stroke), G. Holbrook, J. Allen, R. Cameron Guire (stroke), H. Ricketts, L. Scott, E. Parkes. f‘ Altogether there will be seven races so. that this will be a record for Nelson. These races should prove very interesting and should alone provide a good afternoon’s entertainment.
