Important points of the policy lie proposes to adopt in connection wftlx i'ublic Works were announced to-day by the Hon. R. Semple (Minister of Public Works). They are:— (1) Abolition of all relief work on Public Works and all works to be standardised full-time jobs. (2) Payment of a decent living wage. (3) Adoption of a 40-hour Week. (4) Equal pay for married and single men. (5) Provision of reasonable accommodation. (6) Adoption as a principle of the co-operative contract system of work wherever possible. (7) Maoris to receive the same rate of pay as Europeans.
