DIVORCE LAW IN GERMANY
SWEEPING REFORMS PROPOSED

BERLIN, 21st January. * The committee of the Academy of German Law’s proposals For divorce reform include empowering courts to order divorce on tiie application of the Public Prosecutor, apparently irrespective of whether it is desired by either party. Such divorces should Lie given only where maritial relationships arc shattered but, according to -the Nazi theory, they may be regarded, as shattered if, despite friendly relations . between man and wife, a marriage lacks moral value, which embraces criminality, immorality or Communism in either party.
