Dr. Mario Dessoules, the newly appointed Italian Consul for Nev r Zealand, who arrived by the Romolo yesterday, said Italy was undergoing complete economic transformation w ith total independence as the ultimate goal. “Italy now lias 44,000,000 people united as one behind Signor Mussolini ready to die for him and their conntiy. They are standing four-square behind him in the face of the greatest injustice ever done to a nation- -the sanctions. Dr Mario Dessoules added that the world’s press had a grave responsibility of giving to the public the truth in all tilings, but he feared that in its treatment of the Abyssinian situation it had failed to discharge its duty.
