PIG BREEDERS’ ASSOCIATION

MEAT HOARD REPRESENTATIVE (By Tclegranh—Press Association) PALMERSTON N., 27th January. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Pig Rreeders’ Association it was decided to support a letter Iron) the North Taranaki branch urging that the pig industry should have a representative on the Meat Producers’ Hoard. The council is to approach the Department of Agriculture and the Government with the request. The chairman (Mr J. A. Russell, of Palmerston North) expressed the opinion that many boards would shortly be changed. At the suggestion of ihe South Island branch it was decided to write to tlie authorities at Smithiield, London, asking for a sample judging card showing the relative possible points for the different sections of pork baconer pigs, so that they could be judged on (lie same basis on the hoof in New Zealand. One member said that judging in the Dominion without this was done in the dark.
