OLYMPIC GAMES
VISIT OF OFFICIAL REPRESEN* TATIVE A FINE LINGUIST The official representative ot the Olympic Games organisation in Australia, New Zealand and the South Seas, Mr P. Cramer, is at present in New Zealand. The games are to be held in Germany in August next. Mr Cramer lias had an office established in Sydney since the middle of last year, for tin; purpose of supplying information concerning the preparations being made for the games, of attending to applications for admission tickets to the stadium, and of giving information concernimr travel and accommodation in Germany.
A widely travelled man, Mr Cramer is a fine linguist, speaking four European languages German, English, French and Dutch—fluently. In addition, ho also has a command of the languages of tho natives of Malay and Siam. He spent 16 years in the Far East. In 1925 he visited Abyssinia, where lie was granted a private interview with Haile Selassie, who was then Regent under tho name of Tafari. Mr Cramer expressed the opinion to “The Dominion” in an interview last evening that the Emperor is a very intelligent man.

Olympic Winter Games, to be bold at Garmiseh-Partenkirclion in Germany from 6th February to 16th February and tlie eleventh Olympic Games at Berlin from Ist August to 16th August. After having spent much time and money in bringing tho two Olympiads before the public of Australia, Mr Cramer is now making a hurried lour through New Zealand. lie will sail for Tasmania from the Bluff on 20th January.
