CANAAN-TAKAKA VALLEY STOCK TRACK
REQUEST TO- MINISTER SHORTER ROUTE OVER HILL A request for a stock track from Canaan to the Tnkaka Valley was made to the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. R. Semple) when at Motueka, by Mr A. 11. Fletcher, chairman of the Takaka County council. Mr Fletcher -pointed out that the track had been made from the Takaka Hill to Canaan and if it was continued to the Takaka valley it would reduce tlie distance of the route for stock now driven over the hill. r l'he formation of the track suggested would reduce the distance by 7 miles. The Minister in reply said that consideration would be given to the matter when the next estimates were being prepared. He gave an assurance that something would be done by the Government to help.
