CABINET MEETING
WORK OF SUBCOMMITTEES (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, 9th January. The sub-committees of Cabinet met to-day to deal with the tasks allotted to them. Work early this afternoon had not progressed beyond the preliminary stage and until something conclusive' is reached no statement can be expected, according to Dir Savage. Much depends on the Finance Committee which devoted most of to-day examining questions of currency and banking, a job that involved reference to numerous international authorities. The question of changes in the existing law necessary to enable the Government to proceed along its new lines was also considered.
