A NEW EXPEDITION GREATER HOPE FOR.SUCCESS A HIGHER CAMP (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received IGth January, 10.25 a.m.) LONDON, 9th January. “We have greater reason to hope for success than ever before,” Mr Hugh Ruttledge told the “Telegraph” in recounting the Everest preparations. “Ilie team consists of first-rate men, ten of whom have previous Himilayan experience. One great objective will be to place an additional camp higher than the highest camp in 1933, and a good deal nearer the summit, probably within 1200 feet. Even from the additional camp it will take the party about fifteen hours to reach the summit and return. The climbers will have half an hour at the top at most.” Mr Ruttledge leaves for India on 31st January. The expedition starts from Kalimpong, Bengal, on 30th March.
