DISPUTED CLAIM
BANK AND STATION OWNER SUPREAIE COURT HEARING [By Telegraph—Press Association! GISBORNE, This Tay. Litigation involving a dispute between William Douglas Lysnar, station owner and funner member of Parliament, and the National - Bank of New Zealand which last year was the subject of a successful Privy Council appeal by Lysnar, was again before the Supreme Court today when a special session opened before Mr Justice Blair to hear claims by Lysnar for damages, allegedly sustained as the result of the bank not fulfilling a contract entered into between the parties. The claims centres around Arowhana station, of which Lysnar is the owner, and the bank’s advances in connection with the running of the property. Lysnar’s claim runs into large figures which are not precisely stated, and the bank contends that these are offset, by Lysnar’s indebtedness to the bank, which it alleges is greater than the amount he is entitled to claim.
Mr A. H. Johnstone, Iv.C., is appear •ng for tlie Bank, and Mr H. F. O’Leary K.C., for Lysnar.
