JUBILEE FUNCTIONS
ENORMOUS INTEREST THOUSANDS OF VISITORS EXPECTED (United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copyright! LONDON. 16th February. The Kind’s .Silver Jubilee functions, especially those at which the King ancl Queen will be present, are expected to be so overcrowded that it will be difficult to accommodate all desiring to attend. In addition to the enormous interest in Britain thousands of people arc coming from the Dominions. One shipping company alone is reported to have booked 4,000 passengers from Australia. Rigid rationing and balloting for places will be necessary. For instance, there are the difficulties afforded by the presentation of addresses to the King and Queen at Westminster Hall. Nearly 2,000 are expected to attend, including Peers, Members of the House of Commons, Judges, Dominion and Colonial Parliamentarians, but there will not b u room for their wives.
NATIONAL THANK-OFFERING
LONDON, 15th February. The Prince of Wales is inaugurating a scheme for a national thank-offering to celebrate the King’s jubilee. He is calling a meeting of Lord-Lieutenants, Lord Mayors, Lord Provosts, Mayors, and Provosts from all parts of Britain for Ist March, when he will reveal his proposals.
FREE ENTERTAINMENT

(Received 18th February, noon) RUGBY, 16th February. Theatres and music halls throughout the United Kingdom will mark the occasion of the King’s Jubilee by offering free entertainment to some 500,000 disabled ex-servicemen and unemployed and their children.
