Only one passenger was seriously hurt, Mrs Alice Evelyn Jones (30), who had an artery in her left wrist severed, and she was taken to hospital. Among the other occupants who received medical attention were Miss R. Ogilvie, who suffered concussion; her younger sister, who had cuts on her hands and one shoulder; Miss Woodlock, whose injuries included severe shock and abrasions to her face; and Miss Edna Elliffe, who received extensive bruises. Several other people suffered from shock, bruises, abrasions, and minor cuts. When climbing a hill the driver of the bus pulled over to one side to allow an overtaking motorist to pass. There is a bank Sft deep at the side of the road and without warning the edge crumpled away under the weight of the heavy bus, which rolled over the edge and down the bank.
