STRIKE AT BRISBANE ABATTOIRS
TO BE CONTINUED
(United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright)
(Received 18th February, 11 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. The unions involved decided unanimously to continue the Brisbane abattoirs strike until the Meat Industry Board consents to negotiate with them outside the Arbitration Court. The unions called for volunteers to picket certain butchers shops. Brisbane so far has not suffered a meat shortage, as master butchers are killing their own cattle and sheep, and by drawing on export stocks there is sufficient meat to supply the city’s requirements for three weeks.
