ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
APPROACHING NEW ZEALAND (United Press Association— By Eleotrio Telegraph—Copyright) MONTREAL, 14th February. (Aboard the Jacob Ruppert.) Struck by numerous squalls since she left Little America the Jacob Ruppert emerged from the “Tempestuous Sixties” to-day. At noon her position was 59.43 south, 173.45 east, about 890 miles from Dunedin. The Bear of Oakland is about 100 miles astern. According to radio communication early to-day the wind reached a velocity of 60 miles an hour. Once it was necessary to change the course to provide a lee for the two aeroplanes which were cocked on the after hatch.
