TRIP DOWN MOTU RIVER MORE WALKING THAN BOATING (By Telegraph—Press Association) GISBORNE, This Day. After twelve days’ adventurous journey in a flat-bottomed boat from Motu village, a party of three young men, Telford, Caultdn and Graham, reached the mouth of the Motu river from Motu village, three days overdue. The route for 70 miles was through trackless thick forest, and deep gorges, the passage of which was attended with many hazards. The party had to walk a good deal more than they boated.
