OBITUARY
CAPT. CHARLES M. LAING

TAURANGA, 29th November
The death occurred yesterday at London of Captain Charles .McMenamen Laing, M.C., A.F.C., R.A.F., who was Royal Air Force adjutant at the Norfolk aerodrome. The late Captain Laing, ol Bethlehem, Tauranga, was born in Wellington, and went to England thirty years ago, where he joined tlie staff of Messrs Dalgety and Co. aL the age of 19. At the outbreak of the war he joined up with the Honourable Artillery Company and afterwards was transferred to the Royal Scotch Fusiliers as lieutenant. At Capo Holies ho gained tlie M.C. Aft'er the evacuation he joined the Royal Air Force and continued in that service after the war.
Captain Laing, who died following an operation, was to have retired at the end of this year. He leaves a widow and son.
