NEW ZEALAND ARTISTS

EXHIBITION IN LONDON (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) SYDNEY. 3rd September. An exhibition of water colour drawings by two New Zealand artists', Mrs H. Pulleine-Spencer and Mrs Dorothy Ashton, was opened to-day at the New Zealand Women’s Association. The majority of the subjects are New Zealand. Critics declare that Mrs Spencer’s work is fresh and happy. Her best results are achieved in pictures of luxuriantly tangled native bush, which are marked by depth and richness of colour. Mrs Ashton's comprise pleasing beach scenes. Mr Will Ashton, who opened the exhibition, said the work of each painter was frank and honest, and full of light and colour.
