CHEERFUL ATMOSPHERE
IMPRESSIONS OF LONDON RETURN OF WELLINGTON ' BUSINESSMAN (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr C M. Bowden, of Bowden, Bass and Cox, Wellington, who is just hack from a visit to the Old Country and America, when interviewed said lie was much impressed by tlie cheerful' atmosphere pervading London. He said there was not over-consumption of our chief products. It was interested parties who had raised that cry. Facts and figures did not prove it. Tlie city welcomed the intimation that the present exchange rate would he maintained for some time to come. With this assurance it was anticipated delayed orders would be placed. Also, in conjunction with tlie lowered deposit rate in New Zealand this possibly would have the effect of calling back to London funds which had been allowed to accumulate in New Zealand in the hope of a fall in tlie exchange. He paid a tribute to the work of the New Zealand oificc in London.
Mi* Bowden said New Zealand to liis mind should peg along and continue to produce and expand, and above all bend every endeavour to place with Britain an ever inceasing percentage of import requirements.
