BREEDING STOCK
INCREASED SHEEP RETURNS ENCOURAGING FIGURES (By Telegraph—Press Association! WELLINGTON. This Day. At 30th April last there were 28,649,038 sheep in the Dominion which is an increase of 893,072 on the total for the preceding year. Tlie final figures are greater by 98,268 than the estimate which was published some months ago. This year’s total indicates an increase in the breeding stock of the Dominion, and a change from the position of two years ago when, on account of the prices being obtained, there were very heavy killings of lambs, thus depleting stocks. In 1330, when there was the highest total in the last seven "ears, the number of sheep was 30,841,287.
