RACING SWINDLE
RECENT COUP IN FRANCE PARTICIPANTS ADMISSION LONDON, 23rd August. A prominent French amateur footbailer, Andre Mary, has been arrested, says the Paris correspondent of the “Daily Mail,” in connection with the swindle at tlie Enghien races last weekend. A horse called Tlallccourt won at long odds and as soon as his connections collected their winnings they and the horse vanished. Mary has admitted that be weighed in as the jockey and, unknown to the stewards, his place was taken before the race by a professional jockey. No trace o! the horse or its owners has been found,
