SUMMER IN BRITISH ISLES
RAINFALL BELOW NORMAL (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, 31st August. After a hot summer in the British Isles, local night frosts are now being recorded in several districts. . Despite the recent rains, the August rainfall is generally below normal. England and Wales, as a whole, are still short, over four months, of the normal fall. Kew shows six months gnd Liverpool seven months in arrears. Failing record periods of sustained heavy rain, the accumulated deficiency cannot he made good before next summer.
