UNITED IRELAND PARTY
O’DUFFY'S LEADERSHIP PROFESSOR RESIGNS AS PROTEST (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) LONDON, Ist September. Professor James Hogan lias resigned from the newly-appointed National Executive of the United Ireland Party as “the strongest possible protest against General O’Duffy’s destructive and hysterical leadership and his pronouncement regarding Ulster, which is fatal to a policy- of national unity.” The Dublin correspondent of “The Times” states that there is considerable excitement over the resignation of Professor Hogan, who has been one of the party’s most loyal and steadfast supporters. His defection is almost certain to bring to a head several differences which are known to exist between General O’Duffy and other members of tlie Executive.
