BUSINESS IN GREAT BRITAIN BANK CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT (United Press Association— By Electrit Telegraph—Copyright) (Received Ist September, 9 a.m.) QUEBEC, 30th August. Business is getting better in Great Britain, but he hoped it would not turn into a book, stated Mr J. W. Beaumont Pease, chairman of Lloyds Bank to-day, on his arrival by the Empress of Britain eii route for Australia and New Zealand. Of banking conditions in Great Britain, ho said the proportion of loans to deposits was lower than for many years.
