ANONYMOUS BENEFACTOR

IDENTITY CLOSELY GUARDED British Official Wireless RUGBY, 4th May. An anonymous benefactor to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, has made himself liable for gifts totalling £105,000. Already h e has given £55,000 to the hospital and he promised in addition to double every pound received from the public up to £50,000. The Duke of York, announcing this offer said neither he nor his w'fe, who was president of the hospital, knew the name of the donor. The only pei'son aware of the identity vas the chairman of governors.
