A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Yesterday Mr Joseph Taylor celebrated his 76tli birthday, and his 51st wedding day. Both Air and Mrs Taylor are keeping fairly well and active for their age, though' they have felt somewhat keenly the effects of recent weather conditions, due, Mr Taylor states, to abnormally strained cosmic conditions arising from the relatively clustered situation of sun, moon and planets adversely affecting the earth’s magnetic potential, its atmospheric envelope, and even climatic and weather conditions and certain kinds of crops. Though more confined to home at nights than formerly, Air Taylor still wields a prolific pen in both prose and poetry, especially when dealing with his favourite topics. Alany years ago ho was well known as a writer and lecturer on several scientific subjects, and as the founder of Absolutism, or Absolute Philosophy. And this be regards as the chief work of his life. Air Taylor still lias in his possession lists of lectures which lie delivered in England and Scotland as far back as 1885, relating to mining geology, and to various phases of Absolute Philosophy. Quite apart from magazine articles and newspaper correspondence, Mr Taylor says lie has published two books and 18 'pamphlets at bis own expense, and with very little remuneration.
