The Ncwnes Investigation Opnunit(ee considers that Ncwnes is the most economical location for retorting and treatment plant for the production ot oil from shale. It suggests that a company be formed with a capital of £OOO,OOO. Since the appointment of tlie committee reductions ill petrol prices have decreased the retail value of the proposed output from Newnes by about £IOO,OOO per annum.
