The Basingstoke (Hampshire) by-elec-tion, due to the resignation of Viscount Lymington, resulted as follows: If. Drummon-Wolff (Con.) 16,145 John Foot 9,262 J. Barker 4,663 At tho List General Election (1931) Viscount Lymington (Con.) had a majority of 17,417 over the Liberal candidate, who was nearly 2000 votes ahead of tho Labour representative.
