The Watsoii-Heaumnii expedition, which is attempting to cross the .Mount Waddiugton section of the British Columbia Coast Range on skis, lias established a base camp on tho Scimitar Glacier. Messrs Boauman, . Watson, and Couttet reached Fury Gap and explored Pocket Valley for an easier pass over Franklin Glacier. They climbed an unknown glacier—9ooo feet of wet, heavy snow. The beat at midday and the cold night winds have impeded the progress of tlie party.
