BUNDED EX-SOLDIERS

RE-UNION AT AUCKLAND CIVIC RECEPTION GIVEN (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. Twenty-one of the 27 blinded exsoldiers in New Zealand are attending a re-union in Auckland. It will last three days. They were given a civic reception tc-day by tlie dcputy-Mayor. One of tlie speakers was Mr M. Carr, representing the trustees of the Commercial Travellers’ Blinded Soldiers’ Fund who said £IO,OOO had been spent by the trustees in helping the blind, and there was still need for assistance. There were 27 soldiers and four widows dependent on the fund. Mr W. T. Roods, of Christchurch, replied on behalf of the guests. He said they were doing their best to keep alive the spirit of St. Dunstaii’s and to help those civilian blind who were less fortunate than they.
