DROP AT CHICAGO

WASHINGTON, 19th April.

Wheat prices at Chicago dropped five cents when the report was spread attributing the wheat pronouncement tc. Mr Wallace, particularly as the statement considered it inevitable that a close alignment between domestic and world prices would occur within the next year. Wheat recovered its losses before the close of the day, but Mr Wallace, queried by corespondents, declared that the prediction .narrowing the difference between the two prices “is anybody’s guess.” He added that the dominant factor in determining the domestic price is the impending crop of possibly 720,000,000 over last year.
