A FAST 109 YARDS CLAIMS OF JARVIS (By Telegraph—Press Association! DUNEDIN, This Day. W. J. Jarvis made an attack on Noel Crump’s New Zealand swimming record of 55 l-ssecs for 100yds last night. Although unsuccessful, his time of 56 1-5 sec. is the fastest ever done in the Dominion in frelsTi water. Crump’s record having been established in salt water baths at Auckland. The Otago swimming centre has decided to renew its representations to the New Zealand council with respect to the inclusion of Jarvis in the Dominion team lor the. Empire Gaines, and is prepared to undertake to find the necessary funds in Dunedin.
